NUT CAKE
1 lb. almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 lb. English walnuts
9 or 10 eggs
1 1/2 lb. granulated sugar
Beat the sugar and egg yolks together for 1 hour (this
is the most important part of the cake). Add the nuts rolled
very fine; then the whites of eggs beaten stiff. Pour into but-
tered cake tins and bake 14 hour
